These are the instructions for the Photoshop document that you downloaded. I will try to explain everything as thoroughly as possible just in case you haven’t used it before. If you don’t have Photoshop don’t worry, you can still get buttons. Just send me a picture of the image.
When you open up the template document you will notice that there are three circles. The innermost circle is the face of the button. This is where you want to have the main body of the design. All text with your name on it should be inside this inner circle. The area outside of the inner circle is “bleed” area. This includes the "Rim Text" area which you can simply type in what you want the rim to say. This part wraps around the side of the button. Make sure this space is filled with your background color or pattern. Don’t have any important parts inside this area.
There are five layers in the template and they are pretty self-explanatory.
The bottom layer is titled “Place your art here” and this is where you’re going to put your art.
The next layer is the text layer, you can click the text tool and then the text to write in your own text.
The middle layer is the inner circle, titled "Face of button". You want to have all your main art inside this circle. It’s titled “Place main art inside, Hide layer when done.” To hide the layer click the eye image so that it disappears.
The next layer is the bleed layer guideline. It’s titled “Bleed area and border” Hide this one when done as well.
The Top layer is just the cut layer and is for my use. Anything in the white will not be shown on the button.
Note: Don't worry about the cross hair blue lines they are just there to make sure your buttons are even. These lines will not print!
In the layers window the visible layers are green and the hidden layers are red. When you’re done editing your image and ready to save it make sure that the red layers are hidden and the green layers are visible.
Save your document as a Photoshop (.psd) document and do not flatten the layers.
